Palo Santo

Our Palo Santo comes from a province in the northeast tropical region of Manabi, Ecuador. We partnered with the Artisan Union of Manabi, who have been instrumental in assuring that the Palo Santo that is gathered is not only of the best quality but that it is also collected in the most ethical and sustainable way.

Due to new conservation laws that prohibit the deforestation of Palo Santo trees (also known as Bursera Graveolens), you can only gather bark from fallen or dead/dried- trees.⁣

Palo Santo “Holy Wood” has been used for centuries by the indigenous people in South America for its medicinal properties, and also in sacred ceremonies. The natural aromatic fragrance that the wood emits is believed to relieve stress/anxiety, clear out negative or stagnant energy, and is even used to repel mosquitoes. ⁣
